OUR services

FEES & SERVICES

  

AACC accepts clients who have  Denver County and Arapahoe County Medicaid , CHP+,  Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oxford, and Oscar Health . We also take private pay clients and accept cash, checks, and PayPal. Session fees for private pay clients are noted below:


1-Hour Individual: $100

1-Hour Family: $125

1-Hour Couples: $100

Group: Varies depending on group size

Prospective clients, ages six and up, come to AACC’s outpatient private practice with a variety of concerns, including (but not limited to):

BENEFITS OF ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY IN COUNSELING

  

In Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT), animals that meet specific criteria are an important part of the treatment process. AAT is delivered by a licensed professional and is designed to promote improvement in social, emotional, and cognitive functioning. Some benefits include:


  • Animals help improve client motivation and engagement 
  • AAT helps clients practice skills in session
  • Animals provide a sense of security, emotional support, unconditional acceptance, and positive regard
  • Animals promote relaxation, lower blood pressure, regulate heart rate, and increase oxytocin in the brain
  • Animals  help learn frustration tolerance and other anger management techniques
  • Animals can improve focus and attention
  • AACC promotes learning which can increase confidence and self-esteem
  • Animals offer humor and fun due to their playful nature
  • Therapy Animals model positive attributes to clients, such as patience and forgiveness, allowing clients to develop empathy, nurturance, and responsibility
  • Clients can learn advocacy skills by likening stereotypes affecting animals to how they deal with stereotypes in their own lives
